Hello! My name is Cora Grover, and I’m an artist, full-time art educator, and lifelong creative.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Art Education from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2023 and my associate’s degree in Arts & Humanities from Madison College in 2020. In true cheesy-movie fashion, I’m a small-town girl with big dreams — except instead of running off to become a pop star, I chose paint, clay, classrooms, and a lifelong commitment to making beautiful things.
Creativity has always been part of my story. I come from a long line of artists and makers: my dad is a woodworker and metalsmith, my grandpa was a painter and illustrator, my great-grandpa was a painter, and the list goes on. In a family full of hardworking, hands-on, blue-collar people, art was always present — but I’m the first Grover to turn it into a career.
Art has been the one passion I’ve never outgrown. My mom once told me I’ve been drawing since my little baby hands could hold a crayon, and honestly, not much has changed. I still love the challenge, the mess, the process, and even the occasional failure — because every mistake gives me a reason to grow, learn, and try again.
If money were no object, I’d probably spend my days tucked away in a studio making art until I’m old and gray. But the only thing I love more than making art is helping other people discover what they can create. That’s why I teach. I believe art education should be encouraging, challenging, joyful, and meaningful. I want my students to feel supported, capable, and brave enough to try things that might not work the first time.
As both an artist and educator, my goal is to keep growing, creating, and sharing what I love with others.
